The creature on the way to school

We've seen owls, frogs, ducks (with babies), hawks, and a snapping turtle on our little walk through the woods to school. Today Ian (fortunately) noticed this guy staring us down on our path. (For those of you who don't live in NC, this is a venomous Copperhead, very common in our area). We went back home and took the car . . .
