Lukas checked in at the birth center Tuesday for his 2 week checkup. He now weighs 11 lbs 11 ozs and appears to be thriving. He’s been a very hungry boy, especially in the evenings when he’s fussy and likes to nurse almost non-stop for hours (perfectly fitting the descriptions of cluster feeding, which is common at his age). He usually settles down to bed sometime between 9:30 and 11:30, then wakes up around 1:30 and 4:30 for feedings, and sleeps until 8 (which has been making Ian late to camp all week). He has increasingly long alert periods during the days, during which he looks at people and things with great concentration. Here are some closeups of his “exercise” time on the floor gym:

This is about as far as he can get raising his head from a flat surface. It is obviously a big effort for him, involving a lot of grunting and frustration noises:

It already seems that his arms and legs are filling out. Must be the combination of all that milk and his exercising his arms and legs by flailing about.
Grandpa
I know his legs are filling out because now his diapers fit well.
