As our readers will know, Ian has had a (relatively) long history with cob building. Today he had another cob encounter when we went to visit Greg's current project. As an experienced cobber, Ian got right to work when we reached the site, getting cob from the pile and "Smoosh!"ing it onto the walls. You can see here that the rafters are just starting to go up in this building. The walls are up (although they still need to be plastered -- the holes everywhere are just to help the cob dry, they won't be visible in the final building):

There are some cool cascading windows and lots of nooks and crannies:

Fortunately this shelf in what will be the mudroom is just right for diaper changing:

Here Ian is climbing the stepladder to add some cob:

And up another ladder:
And onto the scaffolding:

Then we headed over to the community garden, where Greg taught him how to pick peas:

And, of course, we couldn't avoid stopping to play with the diggers in the sandbox:

And Ian had a great time riding the scooter. He was very adamant that "I do it" (i.e. that Greg should stop holding the handlebar), but had to be disappointed in this case:

A brief but action packed trip for a small boy!
