Greg provided Ian with a little step so that he could add cob to the top of the wall (Smoosh!):
Here Ian is saying "Cheese!" for the camera:
For this project, Greg gave in and used a mortar mixer rather than the traditional foot-mixing approach. Ian was very disappointed when he was done and took the mixer back. Here the cob comes out into the wheelbarrow to go down into the yard:
During down moments in the mixer-watching, Ian found other entertainment:
The wall as it was in early May, in the middle of the roof beginnings (the shingles are just there to protect the top of the wall from getting wet):
The gate waiting to go into place:

Work on the wall has been on hold for a couple of weeks while Greg works on his "real" project -- a house in a community about 20 minutes from here. That project is coming along nicely. He will be back in our yard soon to resume work on the wall. Other parts of our big drawn out yard beautification adventure are also progressing. More photos to come.
