Unlike last weekend, which was miserably cold and unrelentlessly rainy, and the first half of this week, which was snowy, icy, and in the teens, this weekend was gorgeous and in the 70's. We took advantage of the weather to have a picnic in the park. We chose Duke Park, a much recommended place about a mile from our house, which we'd never visited before. We packed up some sandwiches, dog food, Cheerios, and water in the dogs' backpacks and set off. The first half of the trip was on the greenway across the street from our house.

Our last stop was the swings, which Ian greatly enjoyed. I try to take his age into account when I push him, but Daddy insists that he should swing high like a real boy:

It is nice that we were there and walked along some of the same paths shown in the pictures so now we recognize them. The same is true when we use Skype and know where you must be sitting with Ian and what is around and behind you. And, what a cute little boy.
