Ian's Pumpkins

Ian's Halloween preparations began last weekend. Our neighborhood had a pumpkin carving last at our park last weekend. We started by getting appropriately dressed, in this Halloween sweater from Hermit Thrush (who's great at keeping Ian supplied with cool thrift store finds):

Ian road his bike over (he's getting to the point that he can actually propel it himself, with no help from us pushing the handle):

He did some serious work on his bike with some toothpicks he found at the carving party:

Ian was very helpful as he and Daddy carved the pumpkin:

And the finished result -- a classic jack-o-lantern (patterned after the one on his sweater):

Unfortunately the 85 degree weather that visited us mid-week was tough on all our nicely carved pumpkins, and we were among the neighbors shoveling our drooping moldy pumpkin mess up today. Fortunately Ian and Uncle Greg carved two more last night!
