(from late September) Lukas has been learning new words and now can say our names in a recognizable way. "Da-da" is his favorite, and the one he uses most clearly. He can say Ian ("Yaaah"), but not in a way that would be easy to understand for the general public. He waited until last to start saying Ma-ma, and he still doesn't say it to me that way he says Da-da when he sees Doug, but the video below proves he can do it!
Lukie likes this book about "Little bear, who do you love?" where we go through the different bears in the family and their names. Here you can hear him saying Da-da and Ian (Yaaaah), and you can also hear Ian's frustrated yelling from downstairs because Lukas and I are not cooperating with his plans (the life of a little brother!):
