Snap!

As we were running through the grass around the pond on the way to school this morning, Ian almost ran over a large snapping turtle that looked just like this one.  It had a massive spiked, dinosaur-like tail.  Unlike the friendly little box turtles we've found and picked up to examine, we kept our distance from this guy.  It was an interesting surprise meeting such a large specimen of wildlife just hanging out there in the grass!  Ian also drew a picture of the turtle at school today.  He looks happier there.
