Pumpkin Carving

Our new neighborhood had a Halloween preparation party today in which we carved pumpkins and shared/created costumes. It was pouring rain, but we stayed dry on a big wraparound porch and had a good time. Doug did a very nice job carving our pumpkin (with Ian's help, of course) and we will post photos of that and of the costume we picked up for Ian later.

Here Ian is admiring a little pumpkin:
And showing off how he can lift a big pumpkin:

Helping Daddy clean the pumpkin seeds out with a big spoon:

And inspecting the results:

Dear Ian,
Fall is my favorite time of year!
From the leaving changing all pretty colors,
to picking apples and pumpkins!
I love wearing sweatshirts and being outside
and enjoying the crisp air! I see u are having fun
carving a pumpkin with your dad!! Looks like a
special time with family!
Love you Ian!

Do you guys remember the photos you took of Ian this time last year when he was just a wee pup? (I remember some funny commentary about marrying Elaine for her giant feet, and references to quotations I could never place and also a much smaller version of Ianite). Looks like you are having fun at your new place, can't wait to check it out.
