In addition to wanting to use a spoon and fork all the time (the fork he typically uses to pick things up, then takes the food off the fork and puts it into his mouth with his fingers), Ian also wants to eat foods whole rather than cut up in pieces. We admire him as he works on eating like a "real person". He does this with slices of bread, bananas, and, as pictured below, apples:
Here he has one of the apple slices I cut for him (which he rejected in favor of the whole apple), and is trying to put it back into the apple that it was cut from:

It's nice to see Ian growing up on your blog. I imagine he must have been somewhat frustrated by the apple not going back together. I remember last time I was there you admonished me for giving him too big a piece of banana. Maybe on my next visit he'll be eating whole bananas without any help!
