Ian and Santa

If you recall from last year, my company has a yearly "Evening with Santa" event for families. It's nice to see how everyone else's kids have grown over the year, and also a very convenient and pleasant place to visit Santa (because we are never going to a mall to find Santa).

#3 on Doug's list of why last year was a good year for Ian to meet Santa was "He's not old enough to be scared of Santa yet". Well, now he is. This is definitely age-dependent -- none of the kids Ian's age at the party this year was any friend of Santa's. So, unlike last December, when Ian sat smiling happily in Santa's lap, this year this is our picture (unfortunately it doesn't give you a very good view of Ian's sad little face as he tries to drag Daddy away from that scary man):


He even refused to accept a stuffed doggie from Santa:

The deer that decorate our cafeteria, however, we another matter. He was very fond of them:

And repeatedly planted kisses on the smaller deer's nose. Mmmmmmmmmuh!:
