Ian has been extremely interested in water for the last few weeks. This can be problematic, since playing with water inside is not always safe or appropriate. He has made countless trips back and forth to the dogs' water bowl to fill it with water bit by bit. He always turns the water in the bathtub on while I'm brushing my teeth in the bathroom in the morning. So, in addition to taking more trips to the pool, we've been having more baths lately. So, while you may think that we bathe him because he's constantly doing things like this:
It's really mostly to give him a chance to play in the water. Here he is in his favorite place in the bathtub, standing at the front where he can turn the water on and off:
And being silly giggling with Daddy:
(Why is there a shower curtain behind him, you ask? Well, that's because our shower has a historic wood window in it. Not an ideal feature for a bathroom if you want to actually be able to shower. So, we have a shower curtain on both sides.)

Just catching up on your blog and I love the photos! One fun 'water' game I remember doing in Sunday school (can't remember how it was relevant there at all ...) is to fill a waterbottle half full of water (preferably with a few drops of food coloring in it), half full of oil. When you shake the bottle you create all sorts of bubbles and patterns which will eventually dissipate. Lots of clean fun (as long as Ian can't get the lid off) and very interesting for learning about water's properties.
