Although I haven't heard it myself, I have to report that Ian may have said his first sentence today. Early (too early, at the bright hour of 4am), Ian brought Doug his yellow train and said (Doug claimed), "Daddy, it's yellow!". I kind of heard it, and certainly believe the "Daddy" and "yellow" parts, but was quite skeptical about the "it's". But, when I picked Ian up at the end of the day, Kira (mother of Maeve - Ian's daytime buddy) said, "I swear he just told me 'It's green!'". So, based on two pieces of evidence, it seems that Ian may be saying sentences (although perhaps only pertaining to colors). In any event, his language is developing very rapidly now.
In other developments, he is getting four or more teeth (I feel at least two canines and two molars).

Not only sentences but it seems that, unlike his uncle and grandfather, he knows how to use "it's" correctly. He says "It's yellow", not "It's color is yellow." That latter, of course, would be an improper use of the apostrophe. (Wouldn't it?)
