Ian Plays the Trumpet

Doug is a proud Daddy today. Tonight Ian played his first notes on the trumpet. Doug has been claiming that Ian's buzzing in imitation of him was good enough to produce notes, but I didn't really believe it until tonight when Doug brought his trumpet home for Ian to try. I was particularly surprising that Ian could and would buzz when the mouthpiece was against his lips. He was quite successful, playing several real notes (Cs and Gs according to Doug). He seemed very encouraged hearing himself make sounds and tried quite a few times. We'll have to get it on video soon, but here are some photos:
