Ian and Maeve

Somewhat to my surprise, Ian seems to greatly enjoy the companionship of Maeve, with whom he shares his nanny Lisa. All my reading suggested that toddlers do not much like each others company, although they do like babies and older kids. Certainly Ian and Maeve have disagreements, but they always seem thrilled to greet each other in the morning and mostly enjoy playing together. Lisa was home with her sick daughter earlier this week, so I spent part of the day watching Ian and Maeve in the afternoon. We went to a green space in Maeve's neighborhood, and they found the pine needles, gravel, and mud puddles to be entirely entertaining. Here they are together:

I recognize that shirt! What busy kids, they look like they are constantly in motion. I think it's wonderful that Ian has a playmate.
