Twigs and Pebbles

This weekend, Grammie and Pa visited Ian. He took them to see Uncle Greg's cob house, where plastering was just getting under way. You can see the "scratch" coat on the interior here, which they laid in preparation for a plaster party on Sunday:

The cob house will be the residence of the garden manager when it's done. It's an upgrade from her life in a yome. Here Ian is visiting said yome, where he approved of the nice toddler-height table:

Even without the cob house and the yome, the mountain/farm would have been very entertaining for Ian. There is nothing he likes more than little piles of pebbles, stray stones, sticks, acorns, clay, trees, high grass, etc. We all spent a lot of time waiting for Ian to come along (he does NOT want to be carried, and can squirm in such a way that you have to put him down). He he was pointing out an interesting tree overhead to Grammie:

And little by little we moved along, but had to stop often while he explored an interesting rock in the path:

The yome was in a wooded area where Ian found several nice sticks to play with. He was frustrated that this root refused to be picked up:

We finished the trip off with a visit to a local dairy farm for some ice cream (which Ian ate with his falafel lunch). A nice trip to the country for us urban-dwellers!
