Elaine and I had a nice evening: I grilled hot dogs and hamburgers (quite a few-have you ever seen a pregnant woman EAT?), we ate out on the deck, we drank lemonade, we relaxed, and we decided to cap off the evening with a walk-just the thing to help kick-start labor
Then, the people started with the fireworks-noisy, but not unexpected. Then, the torrential downpour started. Followed by the thunder and lightning. Followed by an increase of the intensity of the rain. Finally, a few blocks from home, the neighborhood lost power. So we were soaked, tired, and welcomed into a dark house.
We still have no power-I'm posting by iPhone.
This would definitely be a fitting backdrop for the beginning of labor. You know, a good story for Ian/Jaina someday. For now, though, no labor pain. No pain of any kind except for the rapid onset of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from typing on this tiny keypad.
