Dedication

Ian was part of the baby dedication at church this Sunday. Five babies were dedicated -- quite a lot considering our church only has 100-200 people. We know that our church family will continue to be very important in supporting us as we raise Ian. We chose his dedication verse:

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

In Jeremiah, it comes at a time when the nation of Israel was going through difficult times. So we want Ian to know that life can be hard, but through God we have hope that there is something bigger going on in the world than we can see.

Ian seems to enjoy being dedicated . . .

But he also contemplates its deeper meaning . . .

Father and son is my favorite pic here by far. Nice choice of verse. I'm glad Ian is not going to be raised in the type of church that will advocate taking away my rights and turning this country into a theocracy.

I'm so glad that the blanket that Heather made was useful for something.
