We think Ian is now entering the Phase III developmental stage described by our Burton White book. We've been looking forward to this phase ever since we first read about it. It is the stage that is characterized by "hilarity" -- a happy response to almost everything that is going on. He suggests that this may be the happiest time in human life. So enjoy it, Ian, it's all downhill from here . . .

Hilarity. It is definitely not all downhill. You obviously are really truly not as sleep deprived as me. Trust me on this one, life is absolutely hilarious when you've only slept ten hours in three days. Yes, I know firsthand what it is like to regress to stage 3 of infant development.
