Three Months Old

Ian is three months old today. On the one hand, it's hard to believe that three months ago we didn't even know that we were having a boy. On the other, it's hard to believe that he's already a quarter of the way through his first year!

Ian has many skills and interests now. He can hold himself up pretty well, pulling up to a stand just holding my thumbs, or sitting with the support of a pillow. He likes to be upright most of the time, except on his playmat. He can grab things and shake them. He is vocal, smiles and laughs at people regularly, and is ticklish. He seems to enjoy having his diaper changed and taking baths (especially seeing himself in the mirror). He likes his Fuzzy Bee book and has starting interacting with it this week -- he'll also usually sit contentedly while we read other books to him. His current interests are grabbing his playmat toys, standing himself up, grabbing his toes, and hanging out in his jumper. He hasn't rolled over yet, but the last few days he has seemed to be getting very close.

Despite sometimes spitting up lots of milk, Ian is still growing well. He weighed in at 16 pounds, 10 ounces this week at the doctor's office. He really seems like a little boy these days, not a newborn baby. We are looking forward to getting to see more of his personality in these next few months as he grows up!

Here he is shaking his rattling monkey:
