A Hat and a Produce-tive Trip

Our friend Kerry has been knitting a hat for Ian. We were very excited yesterday that it was complete. I think it must be the cutest hat ever made! Of course, it didn't hurt that it had a really cute model:

Hat on head, Ian headed off to the farmer's market with me, Greg, and Kerry. (Doug was busy at work finishing a project for the Navy - homeland security before produce!)

After we got our fruits and vegetables, we stopped to see this year's prize winning pumpkin (164 pounds):

We ate lunch in the farmer's market restaurant, where the waitress was happy to meet Ian:

After lunch, Ian enjoyed riding the tractor with Uncle Greg:

Here he is hanging out with Kerry, hat maker (you might notice Ian's hands in his mouth a lot these days -- that's because his two bottom front teeth are cutting through his gums):

And here we are posing in front of the Southern style farewell sign (who knew there were so many photo ops at the farmer's market?):

Ah, do you have to rub it in my face that you get to eat fried green tomatoes whenever you want and I have to be deprived? I am so going there with you next time I visit!

I had the fried green tomatoes in your honor, Thrush!! I hate to tell you... I've had better. When you visit next, there may be a trip to Asheville in order for the best fried green tomato sandwich ever!
