Why does he do this?? I can understand how he might be liable to turn himself -- I imagine that he rolls onto his side and kicks his legs, spinning himself in a circle. But why does he always stop in this direction? (It has nothing to do with the mirror, btw, because I just put that up yesterday). Maybe someday when he can talk (with all those words he's learning from reading with Daddy), he'll explain to me why he does this . . .

Wow, I've never met anyone else with a magnetized baby... cool!
If you put him in the way he is in the picture will he end up in the other direction?
Actually what is happening is that he is grabbing on to one of the bars with his hands and pulling. This changes his orientation by 90 degrees so that he is perpendicular to the way he started. Since there are no bars on the ends of his crib he can only grab on to the side.

Hmm . . . I don't think I buy the bar pulling or magnetization theories, but finding out what he does if I start him that way is a good idea. I will do a baby experiment.
My niece used to do the same thing... so my sister-in-law used to lay her that way and she would wake up in the other direction. It was pretty funny.
