Daddycare Day 1: The Aftermath

Well, here I am the morning after Day 1. All in all, I can't complain. Ian showed up just before 2pm. He was awake and alert for about 20 minutes, and we read "Eight Silly Monkeys." (Actually, I read and he stared at the page). We also spun on my office chair for a while to enhance his limbic system development. Elaine (who was a neuroscience major in college, by the way, so she would know) made it perfectly clear that if Ian doesn't spin regularly, he will grow up to be an idiot. So there I was, spinning with him on my lap. (I did briefly entertain the notion that Elaine was playing on my deepest fears to trick ME into acting like an idiot.)
After reading and spinning, Ian fussed for a full half hour. Just as I was about to give up and take him home (a car ride is always guaranteed to put him into a virtual coma), he fell fast asleep. He was immediately placed into his motorized swing, and I proceeded to work for 3 more solid hours. Then, I fed him, took him home, fed him some more, and cooked dinner. Yes, I can rock Mr. Mom like that. That's just how I roll.

That's just how you roll? Laughing here. You sound just like one of the nurses at work. Glad it went well for you. Spinning to develop the limbic system???
Btw, I'm curious, what did you cook? Are you still on the eating healthy kick?
Kudos, dad on a successful first day of combining childcare and work.
