Party Boy

Ian went to his biggest social gathering yet last night. We were at a party to celebrate the marriage of a friend from work. As a result of the recent change in law in Massachusetts allowing same-sex marriages to be performed for out-of-state couples, he was able to legally marry his long time partner. It was very touching to watch the video of the ceremony and see how much it meant to them to finally make it official. This is not, of course, legally recognized in the great red state of North Carolina (yet). Who knows, this party could have been the first celebration in NC of a gay marriage recognized by a state! A large group of my co-workers assembled to celebrate with them, and Ian was a very well behaved party guest. Here he is being held by Kirsten (affectionately known as Crappers), a big time baby lover, who has been eager to meet him:

You can see another baby in the background of this picture, one of a set of adorable twin boys born in May. They are on the smaller side for their 4 months, and we were shocked to discover that Ian was bigger than them (individually, not combined)! He is becoming quite the big boy. The outfit he is wearing in the photo above is supposed to be a 1 year size, and the outfit in the photos below is a 6-12 month. Both of them still leave plenty of growing room, and his 3-6 month outfits still fit him, but clearly we will be moving through his wardrobe quickly.

This is a very cute elephant outfit, but in no way implies that Ian is a Republican :)

We are noticing that one interesting feature that baby outfits have is that there is often something decorating their behind . . .

More and more people are commenting these days that Ian looks like his Daddy:

I am going to make a conscious effort to find him an outfit with a donkey on it.
